“A Triumph! I must say it is one magnificent piece of work!
I can only imagine the time, energy, & bst invested in manifesting its existence.” G. Horton

“There is no better map of Michigan in existence. If you're traveling anywhere in this state you must have this book. Even in this day of smart phones and GPS maps, nothing beats a good old paper map for reliability and readability. This book also provides a lot of historical data and is a good read even when you're not on the road.” Michael
“Never leave home without it! This is an incredible atlas. Worth every penny! I keep one next to the couch and one in the truck. Every forestry road and many hiking trails are marked. There is so much of Michigan's beauty I wasn't aware of and hadn't explored until I found this atlas.” G. Telgenhoff
“TREMENDOUS in it's scope! I am stunned at the sheer amount of interesting, necessary and accurate data Mr. Brown has captured for our use. The brilliance of combining old cartography with current digital advances has certainly produced a new gold standard for evaluating all atlases from this point forward.”

“This is an incredibly detailed and beautiful atlas of Michigan. While I use online mapping as much as anyone else, you just don't get the collection of information at your fingertips that you get with an atlas such as this. There is information about pretty much every nook and cranny in Michigan. I purchased this as a gift to someone who is himself very experienced in mapping/GIS and he was impressed with the quality of the maps and the depth of information about Michigan as well. Great gift for anyone you know who might want to tour Michigan.” M. Wise

“What a treasure trove of a historical reference! My other three copies are getting dog-eared and worn out from all the use I’ve put them through.”

“As a paper map lover I have to admit this is one sexy atlas!” Joe H
“There is NO Better Atlas of Michigan. I’ve been a purchaser and user of map books and atlases of Michigan for over 30 years and I'm also a cartographer as well. David M. Brown's maps and atlases have always been among the best, most accurate and highest quality maps available and this new edition of the Michigan County Atlas is no exception. Unfortunately, Mr. Brown has much less competition these days, as the variety of maps and atlases have both decreased as well as the quality of those that remain have dropped considerably. Each map has been updated and even more (!) great stuff has been packed onto each page already chock full of information. I cannot fathom the number and variety of information sources Mr. Brown consults to create maps with this much information on them!

Beyond the maps themselves and the countless layers of information contained on them, the copious historical and recreational information makes this a reference work and imminently useful travel companion. Every map is completely indexed with lists showing all roads, hydrology (lakes, rivers, etc.), historical points of interest, places (cities, villages, towns, four-corners, etc.), and a comprehensive listing of nearly every park, recreation area, nature preserve, and state game area in that county along with all of the amenities and facilities at each park!
On a recent trip "Up North," a traveling companion started reading about the history of the various towns we were passing through and ended up learning so much, even about places we just drove past. Yes, the price of the atlas has increased, but when you see that you're getting statewide map coverage, complete historical information, recreation listings and so much more, you're actually getting 3 or 4 books in one. This is a must-have atlas for trips to and around Michigan.

“I got this primarily for boat launches. It’s great because not only does it show ALL the boat launches, and way more compared to the Delorme Michigan Atlas and Gazetteer . . . It rates each boat launch on a scale from A to E, with A being the biggest and highest quality boat launch.” Spartandoc
“Detail on this map is awesome. We bought it as a backup to the GPS for locating waterfalls in the U.P. and found that it had many waterfalls listed we weren't even aware of!” J. Killingbeck
“It is invaluable for motorcycle touring in Michigan. Unlike other county atlases, this shows which roads are paved. I've recommended this atlas to many other Michigan motorcyclists.” D. McCallister
We wore our last one out! The information in this Atlas is great. It gives a whole new perspective as you travel to and through the counties. Many conversations have developed with local residents as you visit their county. It's invaluable!” Jan
“An excellent reference atlas for your desk. If Michigan information is what you want, it will probably be here. Nobody else even makes an attempt to present the quantity found in this atlas.” John’s View
“We moved to Michigan from Oklahoma, and are really enjoying exploring the areas along Lake Michigan. This map is easy to read and has led us to some pretty amazing, naturally beautiful places. My husband reads it every night to map out our next day trip.” Cricket

“BEST ATLAS EVER! So cool. I have lived in Michigan almost my whole life and discovering these forgotten places is absolutely incredible! HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!!” dovonna
“Fantastic maps. Nothing else comes close.” Mr. Cookie
